The usual: films, plays, music - I play the piano... badly - photography, swimming, travelling, eating, reading... jesus I sound very boring

I like films. I'm sort of a film nerd and my list will sound like that of a pretentious, snobby film nerd. I like loads of stuff: Chaplin, old Scorsese, Woody Allan, Bergman, Ozu, The Bicycle Thieves, the British new wave: Life as a Long Distance Runner, Billy Liar, Mike Leigh, Three Colours, Atonement, Network, PT Anderson, Coen Brothers, some new Irish stuff, loved Garage, Butcher Boy. I'm a sucker for that coming of age queer cinema crap like Sommerstorm, Beautiful Thing, Get Real, Edge of Seventeen, Running with Scissors. I've been watching a lot of documentaries recently aswell. Comedies: Aeroplane, etc. I'm leaving out a shit load.

I like lots of music. I play classical and jazz piano badly. Used to be in a rock band but that ran its course. Would like to start playing again. In terms of bands: The National, Arcade Fire, Siger Ros, Radiohead, QOTSA, The Eels, Neil Young, Dylan, Bloc Party, Leonard Coen, Zepplin, Velvet Underground, Modest Mouse, Clap Your Hands, I'd have to look at my ipod which is in my car. Listening to a bit of jazz: Miles, Duke, The Monk, Django. Bit of blues, bit of folk, even, if I'm really really drunk, a bit of mindless pop crap

I've a good sense of humour, am easy going, apparently intelligent. I'd like to think I'm a pretty normal guy, have some problems but so does everyone. I'm one of those people who knows a little bit about everything but not enough about anything to be useful. I'm a bit of a hippie or at least would like to be. I care about the environment and animals and all that crap. I'm a vegetarian. I'm fairly cynical about things. I hate religions. I'm a socialist or at least quite left wing. My biggest fault... caring too much. I work in film which might sound glamorous and I suppose sometimes is but mostly involves lifting heavy, expensive things, getting wet, and not getting enough sleep for weeks followed by periods of unemployment and uncertainty. I've just re-read this section and I sound like an asshole
