Equality in the Media?
Posted On 07/28/2008 14:32:24 by rich999

It never fails to amaze me how the straight media gets away with homophobia! I just watched the most enlightening and well presented documentary on the life of T E Lawrence, aka LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, (made in part by Lion Television, BBC). He was one of the most famous British Gay men of the twentieth century and responsible for the winning of the First World War in the Middle East, by the Allies.

As an avid scholar and expert on all matters Arab, Lawrence’s love affair with a young Arab boy called Dahoud in today’s Syria, propelled him into the role of advisor and uniter of all the Arab Tribes against the Turks and the subsequent downfall of the 500 year old Turkish Empire in 1918!

Yet the straight media in making this programme, so skimmed over the fact of his love and sexuality, even bringing it into doubt, in order to make Lawrence look straight like them! How sad is it that the straight media just cannot bring themselves to acknowledge the fact that some of us are Gay and that fact CAN and DOES change history? Our sexuality IS important and it’s not just about sex, it’s about LOVE and the POWER of LOVE and just what that love can achieve!

Fuckin totttally aggree, the media are ignorant, fashist bastards, (of course, some are very good, and understanding of the gay culture, like channel 4), but most are wankers.
