There are lots of things the British government may be criticised for, but Gay Rights is not one of them. This government has done more to reduce the discrimination of Gay People, than any other government in our history.

We can now enter into a "Civil Partnership" and as a legally "married" couple, have the right to adopt children. This is a huge step forward and one many people thought would never happen.

Gay couples now have the same rights as their straight counterparts, when applying to adopt, although it's not a right that many couples would choose to take up. It's just about the most serious step we can take as Human Beings, committing ourselves to a child for the rest of our lives.

It is a right, however, that some of us may wish to take up in the future and to become fine parents of a child, who would otherwise grow up in the care system, with all the problems that it can inflict upon a young person.

Imagine a law to protect the most discriminated against group in society, Gay People, being flouted by another, more powerful group in the same society. That second group, the Catholic Church, being able to continue to LEGALLY DISCRIMINATE against people it doesn't like, for example, people with ginger hair, fat people or people with a disfigurement, in fact anyone who does not meet with their idea of a perfect human being!

For that is what the Catholic Church is asking our government to allow! But our laws are made in our own parliament not in the Vatican, by an elderly ex HITLER YOUTH MEMBER!

They are asking our government to allow them to continue to discriminate against Gay People in their adoption agency, or, they say, they will have to close! LET THEM CLOSE! There is no place in a modern society, in the 21st century, for an agency with such an outrageous discriminatory policy!

If we give in to them on this, where will it stop? Next they will want to restart burning us at the stake as witches, as they did to us up until the 18th century. They got away with that for 2000 years and no one said anything! They will not get away with this, if our voice is loud enough! We cannot allow this outdated and evil institution to continue to discriminate against us any longer. It's time for us to stand up and say NO!

It is an outrage and they must be stopped! We can e-mail Downing Street and Parliament, write to our MPs and call radio phone-ins! Shout out your anger and OUTRAGE at this request for legalised discrimination! Stop it now!
